That said, the battle over the safety of smart meters ratcheted up a notch last week, after the American Academy of Environmental Medicine released a report titled “Electromagnetic and Radiofrequency Fields Effect on Human Health” – calling for “an immediate caution on Smart Meter installation due to potentially harmful RF (radiofrequency) exposure” and “accommodation for health considerations regarding EMF (electromagnetic field) and RF exposure, including exposure to wireless Smart Meter technology.”
By TERI SFORZA Let’s start out by noting that the field of “environmental medicine/clinical ecology” has its critics, and that it’s not recognized as a medical specialty by the American Board of Medical Specialties. That said, the battle over the safety of smart meters ratcheted up a notch last week, after the American Academy of Environmental Medicine released a report titled “Electromagnetic and Radiofrequency Fields Effect on Human Health” – calling for “an immediate caution on Smart Meter installation due to potentially harmful RF (radiofrequency) exposure” and “accommodation for health considerations regarding EMF (electromagnetic field) and RF exposure, including exposure to wireless Smart Meter technology.” Add Comment A recently completed Michigan Public Service Commission (MPSC) report recommends that DTE Energy allow customers to opt out of its "smart meter" program, according to today's Detroit News. The report is part of an MPSC investigation, launched in January after a number of local governments passed resolutions asking the agency to look into the meters, which measure and record electricity usage with digital technology and transmit data to DTE via radio frequency waves. Without further discussion, his statement that “you would be the first municipality in the province to show official support” should make our decision a “no brainer.” There are very valid reasons why people are so objectionable to smart meters. Gibney conveniently avoided the adversities of smart maters all through his presentation to Mayor Stu Wells and members of town council. By IANS New Delhi, May 24 (IANS) In a relief to the telecom service providers and mobile phone users, the Supreme Court Thursday ordered status quo thereby red-flagging the removal of 180 phone towers in residential areas of Chandigarh. The apex court bench of Justice Deepak Verma and Justice S.J. Mukhopadhaya directed the status quo on a petition by Vodafone South Ltd challenging the Punjab and Haryana High Court order directing the removal of all mobile phone towers in city homes. Across the United States and Canada, utility companies are forcing the installation of the Smart Meter, a digital device to monitor electric, gas and water consumption, upon a seriously uninformed public. In areas where the meters are located outside the house, they are installed without the owner’s knowledge.
Once installed, these meters emit dangerous carcinogenic electromagnetic field radiation, and they also invade our privacy in that they monitor all electricity use in the household. |
